Imagine the days when there were no car washes at all. We have so many modern conviniences in the car wash industry today, the team thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the first automated car washes in the USA.

In 1914, according to the International Carwash Association the first  car wash located in Detroit. But this wasn’t an automatic carwash, it was the very beginning of car washes that started with two business men running a manual car wash in Detroit.  Then in 1928 car wash engineers lead the industry with the idea that a car wash could have a mechanism that pulled and was attached to itself. It took until 1948 before this idea actually became a reality. Can you guess where it was located? We found out it was in Detroit  just like the first manual car wash. This semi-automatic car wash pulled by a machine, but the car was scrubbed with manually operated brushes.
